The Focuss Group BV organises the practice. The care providers process personal data exclusively in the context of providing care. Both parties are joint controllers within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Why we use your data

This online booking system runs on podoCLOUD by BORGinsole. BORGinsole acts as a processor and processes your data solely on our behalf. BORGinsole has no access to the content of medical data, except where technically necessary to manage and secure the platform.

We use your data to:

  • schedule, confirm and manage your appointment
  • prepare for and carry out your consultation

Without this data, we cannot book your appointment.

Who has access

The care provider you book with has access to your data. Other care providers within the practice only have access when necessary for your care, for example when covering for a colleague. Your data is not shared with third parties unless required by law or necessary for your care. Your data is not used for marketing.

Practice communication

After your first appointment, you will receive communication from Focuss on Feet, on average once a month to once every two months: changes to opening hours or how the practice works, information about reimbursement and health insurance funds, and foot health tips. This is sent via the email software Brevo, which acts as a processor. Brevo only holds your first name, last name and email address, never medical data.

You can unsubscribe via the welcome message you receive after your first appointment, or at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.

Digital and AI-assisted tools

Within the practice, we use AI-assisted tools for internal administration and report writing. The following principles apply: no identifying data (such as name, date of birth or address) is entered into external AI systems, no use for commercial purposes or for training AI models, and always human review by your care provider. Consultations are not recorded, except in exceptional cases and only with your explicit consent.

Legal basis

Processing is based on the performance of a care agreement and the legal obligations that apply in healthcare. Practice communication takes place as part of organising and following up on your care.

Retention periods

Data related to your care is kept in line with the legal retention periods for patient records. Appointments that do not lead to a course of care are kept no longer than needed for administrative handling. Your email data is kept as long as you are a patient or until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, restriction of processing, objection (where legally possible), data portability and erasure (insofar as this does not conflict with legal retention obligations). To exercise these rights free of charge, contact your care provider or email info@focussonfeet.be. To protect your data, we may ask you to verify your identity.

Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, you will be informed as required by the GDPR.

Complaints

If you have a question or concern, please contact us first so we can look for a solution together. You can also contact the Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
